It’s that time of year again when I hear people utter those fateful words ‘I am going to change my life in the New Year and get fit & healthy!’ I’ve had countless conversations with strangers, colleagues and clients who have earmarked January as the pivotal moment in their lives.
I always ask them – what are you waiting for?
Christmas can be a hugely indulgent time of year, with many of us overeating, drinking too much and regretting life choices. I understand that new year often signifies a fresh start for many people and for many, this means setting health goals, such as losing weight, following a healthier diet, and starting an exercise routine.
I’m not here to ruin the festive fun. You should absolutely attend the office party, enjoy all the good festive eats and toast the season with a sherry (or two) but there is nothing stopping you from making that start on your fitness journey now.
We all know that resolutions, particularly fitness resolutions based on achieving a body ideal, don’t always work and that’s because we have a tendency to be ‘all or nothing.’ We go from eating our body weight in mince pies & cheese, to nibbling on lettuce leaves and hitting the busy gym 5 times a week – neither lifestyle is sustainable.
Why not get ahead of the flaky ‘Resolution Brigade’ and slip a few healthy habits into your daily routine now?
I can help you to get a head start and support you to challenge yourself, to find a routine that is viable, and to assist you in setting realistic, achievable goals that will see you well into 2023.
