I Hate Mondays

Start seeing another side to Monday. The beginning of the week is a fresh chance to make a change in your life, How do I look at Mondays?

Now we’ve all said it – “I hate Mondays” and I get it. It’s the end of the weekend, it’s back to the grindstone, the start of another long work week, and the boss is always in a bad mood on a Monday.

But then there is another side to Monday. The beginning of the week is a fresh chance to make a change in your life, or a positive commitment to yourself. How about ‘I’m going to start back the gym on Monday’ or ‘I will start eating better on Monday.’

Many of us put off making important changes in our lives – particularly related to health – until we hit an important milestone, such as aiming for a big birthday, or waiting until the new year, but we are blessed with 52 Mondays a year – and that means many opportunities to make a fresh start!

Focus on making one change at a time. It’s better to make small, realistic changes little-by-little, rather than torturing yourself with endless daydreams of goals and extreme body changes that are not achievable. Pledge to change your eating habits, to get up earlier, or to contact a personal trainer and finally start on the road to your fitness goal. As you make one small positive adjustment, your confidence goes up and it becomes easier to take the next steps along the way.

Why not make this Monday the start of your journey?
